Want to change thy world? Love thy neighbor.
Whether or not you believe Jesus Christ is the literal son of God or just think he was a great philosopher/entrepreneur, I mean he did take a stab at that carpentry gig for a time, if you want to change the world then start by practicing the commandment to love your neighbor. Start now. No matter where you live.
It’s that simple although it may be extremely difficult.
And lest ye think I have this Pollyanna view that all of life can be flowers, sunshine, meadows, puppies, and frolicking about singing the classic Beatles tune, “All You Need Is Love”, I also realize there is great evil in the world that should be exposed and irradicated. However, when it comes to our day to day lives, each of us have tremendous power to make our world a happier, more pleasant place simply by being kinder and more loving to our neighbors.
I think people are doing their best and they aren’t out to get you. They may only have limited information. Just like you with which to assess and navigate the world.
Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by neglect or ignorance. — Hanlon’s Razor
You might ask, “who is my neighbor?”
